"For I helped the poor in their need and the orphans who had no one to help them.  I helped those who had lost hope, and they blessed me.  And I caused the widows hearts to sing for joy.  All I did was just and honest.  Righteousness covered me like a robe, and I wore justice like a turban.  I served as eyes for the blind and feet for the lame.  I was a father to the poor and made sure that even strangers had a fair trail.  I broke the jaws of godless oppressors and made them release their victims."

Job 29:12-17

environment in the name of Jesus Christ.

Our Services

Women's Shelter

We offer emergency housing to women and children who are homeless due to eviction, job loss, divorce or those escaping abuse.  We make every effort to get residents enrolled into helpful programs offered by other agencies such as counseling, job placement and financial self-sufficiency.  Hundreds of moms and children have the comfort and support needed at difficult times in their lives through our Women's Shelter service.

Transitional Housing

Operation Care's transitional housing provides the "next step" to those re-entering standard housing.  Our residents pay reduced rent and become accountable for their finances and we assist them on their journey to becoming self-sufficient again.  We believe that our transitional housing program has helped those who could have become completely homeless!  We have assisted more than 2,100 people in our transitional housing and women's shelter programs since they began!

Thrift Shop

Many families are in need of inexpensive clothing and household items.  We provide basic necessities such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, etc.  We provide clothing and essential household items based upon the need of the family.  We have the family fill out a quick, basic application to determine their individual needs.  Our thrift shop is open to the public for purchase of donated items.  ALL proceed from sales help fund other services that we offer.  We conduct a "bag sale" the first week of each month where $5 buys a bag stuffed full of clothing.  This helps families who do not qualify for FREE items, but needs to stretch their family clothing allowance.  More than 6,000 families have used this service!

Mercy Medical Clinic

Our clinic is staffed with volunteer doctors, nurses and medical assistants.  We have interpreters available for non-English speaking patients.  We offer primary health care, lab tests and medications FREE to anyone with no health insurance.  The clinic is open 7 days per month and we are filled to capacity each day that we're open.  Our primary goal is to enlist more volunteer medical staff to enable us to open more days during the month to meet this growing demand.  We have served over 3,400 people through our clinic!

In addition to these services, we also provide the following:

    • Prescription drug enrollment services
    • Furniture & household items to anyone in need
    • Free book bags & school supplies to needy children
    • Arrange counseling for physical & emotional abuse
    • Teach financial budgeting

None of our services would be possible without the financial assistance of our supporters and our volunteers.  To find out more about how you can help support Operation Care, please visit What You Can Do!  If you have any questions about our services, please feel free to Contact Us for more information.
